Deep-dyed Blue

Momma was born with frown lines,
and Gramma cried for eighty years;
so, even if you drench me
with a thousand brilliant smiles,
I'll never be anything
but deep-dyed blue.

"drench me" connects very well with "deep-dyed blue", the title of the poem. That is why this poem works for me I guess. Terse and tight with enough images to make one mull over for a few. Good one Agnes ('99, yeah?)
